Wet birds, singing

It rained all day and all night. Constantly.

"... the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up , and the windows of heaven were opened. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth;"

So much of Noah's Flood. But even here it came to pass that after twenty four hours of heavy rain, dawn came and the birds started twittering and singing.

Wet and soaked they were, damp, moist, dank, humid, sodden, saturated, sopping, but their voices loud as ever, rain or no rain.

I said to myself - do as the birds. Their song never wanes.

This blog was started in absolute emptiness. Six months it persisted as a monologue, a soliloquy, an exercise in loneliness and silence.

Now the loneliness is gone and the silence broken. But the blog will continue in its solitary ways. Because it was conceived as an inward stream, flowing in the dark.

It could revert to quietness.

Or, as the drenched birds, it may sing, come rain or come shine.

I don't pretend I fully understand your wish or your will- also, I don't think it's at all clear if I'm welcome or unwelcome, or something in between. Anyway I hope this will be better than the hectic, bitter, emotionally ambivalent past versions-even if it 'll last no longer.

Aesop's "The Ass and His Shadow"

A Traveler hired an Ass to convey him to a distant place. The day being intensely hot, and the sun shining in its strength, the Traveler stopped to rest, and sought shelter from the heat under the Shadow of the Ass. As this afforded only protection for one, and as the Traveler and the owner of the Ass both claimed it, a violent dispute arose between them as to which of them had the right to the Shadow. The owner maintained that he had let the Ass only, and not his Shadow. The Traveler asserted that he had, with the hire of the Ass, hired his Shadow also. The quarrel proceeded from words to blows, and while the men fought, the Ass galloped off.

In quarreling about the shadow we often lose the substance.

everybody is welcome - but that does not change the fact that everybody (blogger and commentators) is lonely. Brief sparks of communication just make the night seem darker.

I was referring to the tendency and the direction of this blog: inwards. No politics, no debates. Just moments of the soul.

"No politics-no debates?" It's ok with me.
"Just moments of the soul?" Superb!
But still:"the night seem darker"?
"everybody is lonely"?
I don't boast to be ever the optimist(personally I'm both optimist and pessimist at different slices of time) but I recall you thought otherwise in the past and I wonder...
Mayby spring brings melancholic feelings, while winter is essentialy a time to aspire and long for its own end. A paradox?

noone can urge a bird to sing
noone can urge you do the same
sometimes i feel like a caged bird
only joy comes from song
thanx for sharing your "song",your "joy",your"beauty"
without expecting them to be shared
just like a bird

"Now the loneliness is gone and the silence broken"

Bored to tell the story about the scorpio and the frog, I shall stick to its end:

"Ι can't help it. It is in my nature"

Oh well , even with the political and social topics banned , THIS is the place to be.

...and in a true Greek spirit , who knows , maybe we can start a heated debate about the sex of an angel ,or even the feathers of an angel.

Wouldn't that be cool?

a quick thought...

maybe , we all should make "avatars of our avatar" like doodler did or mihalis did , in order to remain true to the esoterical spirit of this blog...

Every human is born into a world full of barriers, remnants of our biological and cultural past. Those barriers take many forms, national, religious, linguistic etc. Any man, who understands that these barriers and the respective groupings (nations, religions, etc) are only temporary, will not be able to avoid conflict with the overwhelming majority of the people who cannot do so. Therefore conflict is unavoidable, and with conflict comes the sense of loneliness.
Aber ein Gedanke zum Trost: Vor Dir sind diesen Weg Tausende Menschen gegangen und nach Dir werden ihn Millionen mehr gehen.

Ah, the bird within...

Housebound it only flutters.

You feel sorry and so you let it out: a high fly - above all small stuff.

If only the world sat still to enjoy its free style and didn't skulk to devour it...
