Privacy

This blog started, almost one year ago, as an experiment in totally anonymous blogging. Also it was an exercise in a foreign language. It remained anonymous (and lonely) for the first months – nobody, not even my closest friends, knew about it. I probably expected visitors from the wide international blog-ocean. A few came and only one left a comment.

Then, tired of loneliness, I started to divulge my secret to some people and later to visitors of my site. This was wrong. My private diary became a blog like all others. It seems I could not resist the lures of publicity. Aiming to an audience, my texts and photos became predictable and trite. (You can see the difference from the first entries). I repent.

I will continue for a time, but my heart is cold. I plan to start a new anonymous blog, in another language – and this time I will tell nobody. I like talking to myself. It is a warm clandestine privilege.

I think that negative thinking is back again.

Stay cool. The blog is fine and everything that goes down comes up again.
At the end its still only September!!!

you can always make your blog private and then invite only your buddies in the mix. But we on earth go to such antics to hide from your audience? Switching to German or French and hosting your new contraption-of-a-blog in (say) typepad will not hide you from google and to an extent from your own vanity.

May I suggest a book? "ΤΡΙΠΤΥΧΟ (επικοινωνία, αγάπη, ελευθερία)" by Nikos Dimou.

It might make you feel a bit less lonely, or to remind you the reason to communicate.

Cold heart? Keeping this blog on with a cold heart is aimless.
Think again. Feel again. Offer yourself to others again...

With the hightest respect.

This was “an experiment in totally anonymous blogging”. An experiment always helps with our next attempt.

I was considering the advantages of a private diary on a blog instead of a hard disc.

a. Should you don’t keep backup it is a good way for an anonymous blog. Even if your hard disk is accessed, no one shall connect you with your writings, not now, not in eternity.

b. In case you keep backup it might just be convenient and extra backup to post your thoughts on a blog.

c. You achieve anonymity, however “visitors are welcome but not necessary”. In this case it might be better to write in English.

Should you wish future generations to read it, consider that translations can’t be perfect, but then again English might not be the prevailing language at the time.

In an accidentally disclosure of your new blog, any other language than English or Greek, can be an advantage.

Personally since I haven’t practice any other foreign language I vote for English, in the extreme possibility that I accidentally come across it, wishing not to acknowledge it is Doodler.

All the lack with your new total anonymous blog dear Doodler.

An anonumous blog may work if it has a specific context, political, technological, social etc.

Otherwise it will fail, like this one...

It is a nonsense for a celebrity to make a futile effort to remain anonymous.

U should return to your 2 old blogs, the political & the techno one.
In greek.
Kind of silly for g(r)eeks to comm. in a foreign language...

U should have sponsors & include advertisements too...

That way u will see 800 comments happening again ...

I salute you,
Captain Clandestinus!

What a relief - and joy - to see that my Γατούλης, ND at all his glorious minimality and staggering self-awareness, is still lurking inside you.

May the ocean keep you warm.

I'm afraid that no one likes talking to himself; OK, I reckon privacy to be one's right, and I understand it's relation to freedom.
But really, talking to one's own self only leads to boredom; for I am trivial for me, and you are not. So we are doomed to communicate if we are to respect our own selves...

I read a friend's text once, he claimed "I communicate therefore I exist"...

Existentia is the key, and there's no such thing in a circular reflection...

I'm a loaded gun and you are the trigger; and vice versa...

Thanks for the warm personal comments.

Heinz, I do not agree that talking to oneself is boring. Some of the most entertaining and interesting books are diaries (Pepys, Thomas Mann or Gide). Maintaining an inner dialog makes you discover new things.

And then of course you do not have to talk about yourself, but about your experiences - meaning the world around you.

I agree with Harry.

Of course its your unremovable right to allocate your creativity and bottom-line your soul as you wish.

But as you are obviously attracted to the company of others - you call it "loneliness" antonymically - and subsequently their criticism and opinion, I believe it would be best for all if you bravely return to the limelight.

Lets see what happens....

Bonjour a tous!!!

A blog, assimilates a diary which is public to readers for sharing our thoughts...

A famous Author, has the option to present, thoughts or hountend words which he/she would never put in a book. Feuilletons are an option too, however there is no direct commenting on this.

This might be tiresome but nonetheless a good way for a communication...

What is sure, is that you do not need to comment every thing that is sent. Contrary to the previous ones, this blog, at a slower pace...

If you still feel exhausted, then you need to discover something else.. another mean of interactive communication...

O.K. BOYS,
LET’S START JOKES !!

I think you have wright…

There is a difference between your first and the current posts..

I have read the “lonely lamp” tonight, and I liked it very much. But I think that a post like this can’t be written if an audience is watching.. Or, it seems difficult to me, at least..

I also think, that there is no such a thing like a “lonely lamp” in our life. But this is another story…

Do as you wish.
You are the only one who can judge your decision correctly.
Been with an audience – us, or them.. – is good, if it has a meaning for you.
Been lonely seems also a very interesting experiment.

My reaction??

-- First, I was very happy to meet you at the blogs again.

-- Second… I have also read another one of your first posts, where you talked about a dream in which you HAD TO talk in a bar, and you tried to avoid it. Remember how your nightmare ended? Someone from the audience said loudly to the others, to start saying jokes!!

So, this is exactly what I will do, at this moment!

I’ m shouting to your audience: “Hey, guys, let’s start saying jokes, at least!!!”

And I make the first step, saying a joke told to me by my doctor while I was taking medicine:

-- Some very old men are talking in a country village. One says “Hey, boys, do you remember that medicine they were giving to us with our food in the army, in order to not have erections? Well, I think that NOW it has an effect on me !!”

I understand how tired and disappointed you must be feeling. I mean, even I do, and I am just a reader.

I hope you will find a way to keep this blog as-is while having fun doing it. If that can't be done, at least please keep posting photos and trip updates here.

Dude,
I actually read all the comments and to tell you the truth I don’t understand why somebody would be unhappy with all these…I mean with the “author/readers” thing(!)…

Privacy is something you can get any time, if that’s what you need!

I understand, we’ve probably put a lot of pressure in you having, yet, another blog…but you can just ignore us and create your own anonymous blog, that none of us (the monsters) would know…

So, besides kidding, go ahead and have fun, in any way you like it!

(Even if it is in Chinese you will always have some stalker after your steps!!!

Scaryyy!)

;-)

No matter what we need you writing or expressing your thoughts in the way that is most suitable to you.

I understand that you are feeling tired and disappointed but the times are more demanding than ever for your opinion..

OK ok, I got the message...

I have tried many times to understand exactly who and why bothering.
I read an article of Nikos Dimou (i don't know if you know him) in lifo and i understood.
It's easy to choose to belong.
Have clientèle concrete, specific enemies and a quiet life.
To choose not to belong anywhere any time to support what is right and think for the next review is really hard but also disturbing.
Because I believe that i am friend of you i wish to decide what will make you happy.

"OK ok, I got the message..."

What does it mean?
Do you continue this blog, you have a new one in an another language, or we find you in one of your old blogs?

doodler said...

The message, from what I gathered, is that the majority wishes me to continue this blog. I was even reminded of my older statements about communication...

Although I have no problem contradicting myself (only stupid people never change their opinions) in this case I agree with my former statements. So I will continue to communicate as oft as I can.

And to be honest I would like to continue to be with us but ...

well dear doodler...

one thing i don't understand about you....

you are obviously heart and soul into communication, but something inside you stirs up every now and then and decides that it's all pointless!

i guess there must be a reason for doing this... which is for you to discover.

...yet the good thing is that you do come back in one way or another :)

honest suggestion: whenever you get this urge of talking only to yourself... go write a book :) you know how to do that so well after all :))) but keep the blogging live :)

p.s. pls don't change into yet another language. i won't be able to read it!!!! :)
